and Clegg says how do you do? Clegg is a good dude. go Clegg go. 38.8 lb average over the past 5 days for this 991 urena pumpkin and it is sitting 167-97-90 = 354 ott or 930 lbs on day 43. didn't measure for 5 days as it is making me too nervous with all the rains. no splits at this point and just minor superficial stem cracking and minor weeping from expansion growth on the stem that had the little bit of sap removed and cleaned and captan on it as well. some cantaloping surface splitting along rib lines and on the stem side shoulders but nothing out of the ordinary so far. i got lucky here with about 3 inches rain total spread out over 3 waves of storms over the weekend. north of us got whacked with 7 inches or so in many areas so it could have been much worse. 50 to 60 mph winds knocked down trees everywhere but did no damage here but snapped my last 1147 good secondary vine i am trying to get sets on. i have mill fabric under a freaky looking 6 day old set that is 16.5" circ on day 6 this morning and is still shiney on the 1147 on that last good secondary trained as a new main with tertiaries trained as secondaries. looks like an early bean shape similar to my 1185 daletas pumpkin that grew the 1125 shenoha last year. it's them 1041 long pumpkin genes that show once in a while i think. the last chance on that secondary fell today when i could only luckily muster up one lone male lower to pollinate the nice 5 lober and better shaped little female 5 feet down the line. it was selfed. a nice cool 81 degree day for a high today so hopefully it will take and they both compete for the spot.
