giving a shout out to my boy JT, jason traylor, for the motivational high five. kind words brother from a good man. i love the people you meet on this site. the brotherhood and sisterhood of pumpkin growers never ceases to amaze me. i guess it's the fact that were are all so nuts that we have to unite in our lunacy cuz no one else gets it. lol. for record sakes i drenched today with 1/3 of 0-0-25 to 2/3s mix of 3-18-18 along with calcium, and neptunes seaweed and fish. again only two 2 gallon cans per plant of the cocktail applied with my 6 foot tube and watering cans down the sides of the mains and stump areas of the 991 and 873 where the best roots are established. i like easing a plant into a change of ferts with a drench first to let it slowly absorb and become more plentiful in the plant before a quick shocking foliar where it is almost all in the plant in 60 minutes. a very light dose of 0-0-25 will be mixed with the 3-18-18, demand cs and quilt fugicide spray cocktail this friday. the 1147 just got two 2 gallon cans of neptunes as i am trying to set pumpkins again. the 1147 i pollinated yesterday doubled in size, but has a weird darker color where the stem meets the pumpkin and i do not think it is healthy little one. time will tell and the next one down the line will be in 5 days or so. still plenty of time to stoughton. that is my motto as i am starting to lose time. lol. gotta have one set on this one good secondary vine by aug 1st at latest. if not, what is the biggest pumpkin ever grown on a tertiary? maybe that is my new goal if all else fails. lol. no quit here on the 1147.
