April on the 873 naylor 2009 is 303 ott this morning or 588 pounds on day 35. the average has dropped to about 22 pounds per day. but this is consistant with my 1147 from 2 years ago. with the smooth exterior skin still and its parents both going 24% heavy, i expect this one to concentrate more with slow and steady gains as the inside walls are developing extra thick. the 1147 shot out of the blocks like a cannon but was a longer steadier grower than the 1446 werner plant that year and added pounds all season while the 1446 stopped a month short of the weigh off. this one is about 4 days ahead of the 1147 in growth. and this one is smooth as a baby's bottom just like the 24% mama last year. i think this one is gonna be a massive 1100 lb estimate rock in the end that could see 1250 to 1300 lbs. i just got done pollinating the 1147 with 4 991 males. take baby take so i can have a new third member of the family. the bottle of ice and fan are on it. alarm is set to change bottle at 9am and then another one at 11 or noon then the big daddy super size laundry bottle for around 2 to 5 pm. i watered thoroughly yesterday in the windy heat and will water more this afternoon to get the pumpkins ready for tonights possible 1 to 2 inches of rain. do not want any big surges from here on out. consistant surges yes, big surges no.
