I lost my 817.9 Schieder-just bit the dust. Wilted up. I looked for SVB but there were none and then I thought I 'd overwatered but the truth is it's been struggling with the heat too so I don't know. Been 95 degrees around here. May have been some kind of wilt too. The other three are doing fine. I'm not having the main ends shrivel up and die like they did last year. I wonder if that has more to do with an individual pumpkin's ability to handle the sun and heat. I am starting to keep the main vine ends under a small piece of row cover just in case but it blows off and they seem ok. Last year they would crisp up if that happened. Hope I get some pumpkins but not sure since I'm so far behind. Oh well. I'm not going to fret too much. I just got a bunch of stuff from Extreme Pumpkin and can't wait to start using them this weekend. Hope it makes a difference.. .
