hey Meat....this bud is for you!!!! here are some updated pics of you girl April on my 873 Naylor 2009 plant. high heat has them going crazy early on. glad i watered thoroughly yesterday so the saturated ground could hold the shock of a good nalf inch or more of rain that hasn't been around in a while. yesterdays measurements posted in the diary were at 7 am. todays were taken at exactly 9 am. this pumkin grew approximately 38 pounds in 26 hours. it is sitting at 104 65 64 = 233 or estimate of 275 lbs on day 23. good lord Meat. now it is quicklky sitting its fat ass down to the ground and getting the tilt shape early which makes it harder to measure circ. i measured from the hump on the blossom end to below the stem parallel to the ground. right under the stem is 103" circ and that is a tilt upward in circ and not parallel. at parellel it is 104" circ and at the blossom side hump at downward angle to the widest point below the stem is 106" circ which is tilted below parallel. these pumpkins that grow blossom down are harder to measure, but from what i have read, parallel is the key, so that is what i went by. and the over the top and side to side measurements are not influenced at all by shape and each of those grew 3" in measurement since yesterday at 7 am, so i feel good about the measurements, but nervous as a nelly. got some minor weeping and small surface cracking on the stem side on the rib lines. nothing serious, all superficial stretch marks, but a sign this thing is pushing its limits. i am hanging on tight for the ride over the next 20-30 days Meat, and i will show updated pics every 5 days brother.
