said what the hell and i put the tape to Kenny too this morning. it gained 39 lbs in 4 days and is sitting at 192 lbs. now if i can keep it growing about 10 pounds per day for the next 80 days i will make it to 1000 lbs estimate. lol. not!!!!! poor poor kenny. lol. but how can i really complain when i have 2 of 3 plants with chuggin pumpkins. i just did the last backwards sliding of the 2 good growing pumpkins with loose mains to get the final bit of clearance possible down the road between vine and pumpkin. with both of them around 240 lbs, it ain't the easiest thing to do wrestling them babies. a little twist and turn while pullin and more clearance was made. then i checked final vine tension and blocked the mains again with styrofome. it was now or never. nerve wracking every year no matter how many times you do it. last year i had to cut off the back half of the main after the pumpkin late in the game for stress clearance on the short stem 1185 plant. these 2 babies also have short stems and vine clearance will become somewhat of an issue for both down the road. their mains might both have to be blocked way up high and keep the curve of the main within the curve of the shoulders to avoid pressure. it's always something to keep making it interesting.
