In may when we took our pumpkins out to the patch the daily temp. was in the 60's and lows in upper 40's. on may 8th disater tried to strike temps. at night dropped to mid 20's and daily highs were only making it into the upper 40's. in order to keep the pumpkins warm we used coffee cans an cut the bottoms out and put large candles inside trying to keep the heat in we bought heavy sheets and sleeping bags to help keep heatin we saidly had to do this for 3 concecutive days. the plants survived and took off growing again.
