and here is a picture of "Kenny Powers" at 10 days old this morning at 6 am sitting at 30.5" circ on my 1147 shenoha 2008 plant and is a brute. kenny was 27" at 3pm yesterday and is 30.5" this morning. wow. mutant strength. and the next one down the line is growing at the same rate and will also be left on as a shock absorber until the heavy rains pass and until i terminate the main vine. workin slowly on my 90 degree turning on all 3 pumpkins. the secondary snapped off a week or so ago on this 1147 pumpkin and i cut it flush. the brown is this picture at that spot of the secondary is just a healed area that looks worse in the picture and is fine. hoping kenny keeps chugging without blowing at this pace. and the picture of "April", who is kenny powers woman, will be coming up in 2 days at its 10 day mark. april is on the 873 naylor 2009 and is not far off kenny's pace. it also has another one down the line that took and will be left on as a shock absorber til the rains pass and the main vine is terminated. this is an exciting time of the year and i was most concerned with the 991 of all 3 plants for early growth. and now that it has grown nicely overnight, it is a pretty cool feeling knowing i got 3 fish on and hopefully i can land them in the boat come late september and early october. long ways to go and severe weather could hit anytime with this pattern, but for today, i am a happy camper.
