The weather was cool and rainy (again!) so instead of complaining about it, I decided to weed 3 hoop houses: the 1164, 1191/1449.5 (yes - it's ALIVE!), and the 1467. I would've liked to weed the 1502, but it's back-breaking work...tomorrow. The plants responded favorably to the neem oil treatment as well as the nitrogen fertilization last weekend. The vines are growing like crazy now, and I purchased some top-secret ammendment and am using it to bury the vines with. I have been pruning tertiary buds off my secondaries, and the plants are looking like "Christmas trees" now. This weekend I will take pictures and measure all vines. Considering our weather, I am pleased with the growth. My hoop houses are 16 feet in length, and 14' wide, so if I'm behind any other Pacific NW growers, I hope to close the gap by extending the time my plants stay in their hoops since I built fairly large ones.
