Go evening to all, and may your plants be healthy and strong.
I like many others probably....grabbed some Weeks NC Giant Seeds from my local Feed and Seed store on a whim back in Early March, thinking I would toss them in the garden for fun and see what happened. I was uneducated, but on time in getting them planted in doors. Seedlings went in soil on April 30th "I did use the file and soak method", which yielded sprouts in 6 days... this I found impressive since germination was listed at 10-14 days.
I did not do alot of the Pro-Growers Preps the way most of you do each season, but I am working to make up for it. I have been growing my hills as I go, adding depth, diameter and nutrients (mixed in my wheel barrow) and added to the hill. Next I had an add on of about 2500 closer to 3000 square feet of tilled soil, to let them vines run on and loose to get them feeders in. I'm getting ready to till in Ironite 1-1-0, and horse manure to the add on area to host the Satelite plants once the mains get stretched out there. I have Pictures in increments from Birth of the Sprouts until now. Post maybe tomorrow. I am proud so far of my first attempt, Water Bill is soaring, and I am designing a Mini Water tower with timers to water pre-dawn, and late afternoon. I am going to attempt to grow a couple standing straight up (Stem Up). Thinking of ramping vine using PVC gutter with soil mix in it to ramp Vine. Thinking when I get to a Female, I will simply elevate a pallet with blocks, and start drooping the vine, to get the feeder roots.....?? Any input to this theory...Trials Errors Criticisms? All Ears.
