Well, I pulled the 1280 Popp. It was a hard decision because the plant was so aggressive and huge, but ultimately, I don't have time this year to be growing a plant that may give me problems. I've got 2 horses to try to get to the national championships in September and need easy plants that aren't going to hassle me. So, I carefully transplanted the 1191 Barker into the cloche I call the Puyallup Fair Pumpkin Palace. It's my primo spot in the garden, with double the amount of "secret ammendment" and a heat lamp. So, my goal is to get the 1191 up to speed with the other plants in the coming days. It got some 4-3-3, liquid lime and liquid bonemeal as well as a handful of micorr. when transplanting. I think it ought to take off, because both the 1280 and the 1449.5 grew 2x faster than the others. I'm thinking its the secret stuff...I'd better get some more on payday. Anyway, all other plants are looking great and tonight I mounded dirt around their bases to prevent any crashing and breaking. I'm thinking of drying my leaves on the 1280 and sending them with my 1449.5's leaves to the lab for analysis. It may be a good thing to do early in the season in case I need to add any ammendments.
