All pumpkins are growing steadily. The 1280 Popp is the frontrunner with gigantic full-sized leaves now. I weeded it's cloche. Tomorrow I'll weed the 1164 Finders cloche. I notice that the 1280 and 1164 are the biggest and tallest plants, which I attribute to the heat lamps. Although both plants look amazing, I worry that they are growing taller and may crash like my 1449.5 did (may it rest in peace...). So, to help encourage them to vine out, I placed the heat lamps ahead of each plant instead of overhead. Also, I used some thin gauge wire to make anchors that secure the plant around the base (like tent stakes) to keep it from toppling over and busting. I also buried the 1449.5 in some dirt today to see what will happen.
