So today I was gone all day to an "event," and when I came home the pumpkins were all breaking ground. And they were royally ticked off at me! They were in a dark germination chamber with the lid on all day, and their color ranged from pasty white to pasty light green. I took off the lid and had a moment of panic. Took the box to my rocking chair and crooned to them and rocked them for a few minutes, telling them I'll be better to them in the future.
