first pruned trendril of the year off the 1147 and i just got done stabilizing the plants with bamboo. tomorrow is gonna be warmer, sunny and windy after many days of clouds and plants have been zipped up tight. so i opened up all vents today and let some slight breeze air out the plants. got a rain day today and just had some bright sunshine pop out for a bit and went to check on the plants and decided it was time to tell the 901 which way to go. i carefully removed soil around the mini stump and dug some trenches for the leaf stalks to lie in. since this plant has 2 first second true leaves, i dug a little trench for each and have now carefully mounded soil back around the stump and used multiple bamboo to secure her on a nice tilt in the right vining direction. she would have continued growing straight up otherwise with all the multiple bushy leaves centering the balance. some of the leaves are not pointed upwards at the sky now but will adjust shortly. so far one central vine tip that is kicking out 2 leaves on each side, but too early to see if its throwing double tendrils. i will know in the next 2 days what the plant is doing and if is 2 fused vines or if it is throwing double tips. the mini secondary at the first leaf junction is coming out with 2 leaves, which is not a good sign. i will try to train the 901 and 873 next to it in slightly opposite angles to let them have a chance to compete against each other til i get a good feel for what is what with the 901.
