I wasn't really planning a diary this year, but as I sift through seeds I'm reminded of the joy I get from showing off. So, my goal for this year is to grow something boat size, so I have something to haul in my recently completed truck, both to a weigh-off or two, or three, and also to the Windsor Pumpkin regatta, where a Mr. Will Neily will be defending his title aand needs to get severely beaten, even if it makes him cry. FYI Mr. Neily, one of the joys of divorce is I now how excessive amounts of free time on my hands, which I have already been using to improve my paddling skills. I'll be starting 12 or so seeds this evening, 8 pumpkins and 4 squash, with the intention of having 6 plants in the ground in a week or two. My seed selection this year will include whatever random seeds look promising, and at least a couple of seeds I'm throwing in based entirely off the name attached to it. I'm not looking for anything massive this year, a selection of boat sized pumpkins or squash would be ideal.
