the tomato draft was a blast and almost everyone in the bar that thought we were stupid before talking all winter about the Bobby's Tap Giant Tomato Contest...well they all said "Where are my plants, and how come no body told me?"
you can only guess my response....use your imagination cuz this is a family site. lol. yes the draft was a silly idea, but damn it was fun watching everyone picking plants and the belly-aching from those who pulled the lowest draft number. most everyone picked the big zacs in the first round and the remaining 5 big zacs went early in the second round. everyone with 2 plants got at least one big zac and one gordon graham delicious...the 2 most aggressive. no body but myself, Tommy the Bartender and McDermitt got the killer looking brutus magnus plants. i only had 3 of them and i got the best one and they rolled dice for the first pick of the other 2. this was fair cuz us 3 were the ones who came up with the contest on a cold day in January at the bar. there is a bet sheet going with who is going to grow the biggest tomato and who kills their plants first. lol. in 2 weeks its the yearly fishing contest and bets are already coming in on biggest fish and most fish. this is the last time of the growing year for me to have time like this to mess around. in less than 3 weeks the patch work will keep me busy every day after work and my play nights will be limited to tuesday night dart leagues and saturday afternoons after the patch work is done. .
