Today is a sad, sad day. I went out to the hoop this morning to check on my 1449, and it had fallen over and snapped at the base. I told Ron how gigantic it was and he warned me to put something around it to prevent it from crashing, so I did, on the 2 sides it looked like it would lay down, but, it decided to lay the other way. Lesson learned the hard way. I didn't cry, so I was pretty proud of myself about that. I yanked it out and planted a back-up in it's spot, took the vine into the house and vented to my husband for a couple minutes before rushing off to my big horse show. I am really sad. It was absolutely huge. I definately want to grow that seed again next year. Now, I've got 5 little plants in the ground, and it's hard for me to get too excited about any of them at the moment. I hope one of them will be able to help me get a big one to the Puyallup Fair in 4 months....
