Note to self on this year's calendar: Watch for striped cucumber beetles. Start spraying May 3. I should have started May 1. Note on next year's calendar. Spray in April. The six early pumpkins look nice. No hail storms have touched them, and they are beginning to stretch out. Quite a few flowers on the ones I planted Feb 1! I can hardly wait until next Monday, when I start the pumpkins for fall competitions. I have a huge garden, with 200 tomato plants in the ground, plus broccoli, lettuce, onions. The cuke beetles took care of first crop cukes and maybe zucchini. Will plant more this week. I have 100's of pepper plants still in the greenhouse. Why can't I do this normal-like?
