maybe i am a fool (actually i take that back, i know i am a fool) but this plant has me second guessing myself, then thinking i got things figured out, then second guessing again day by day. wtf? lol. this is the 901 and here is my current take on it. as you can see by the deformed second true leaf that was folded over on itself when tiny similar to curtains, that it is one leaf. but now i have to believe it is actually 2 second true leaves that were fused into one. the split towards the right of center and the wideness of the leaf makes me tend to believe this. also, you can see that this small sprout has kicked out 5 true leaves already which is silly for a sprout that just pushed dirt 11 days ago. does it have some muscle...you bet. but it is starting to look like a zucchini if you ask me and is bushing out like my buddy Timmer's fused double viner that flatvined and ribboned out on him some years back. last year i had a couple secondaries on my 1161 that doubled up side by side fused together that ended up looking like 2 garden hoses fused at the middle and put out a leaf, tap root and tendril on each side. they were very hard to train and ended up cracking all season long as i tried to stake them down. too rigid to work with. a mutation that occurred for who knows why on only a couple secondaries. i have to believe this one has started out on this path. if it corrects itself out...so be it. if it doesn't...so be it. Que Sera Sera...What ever will be , will be...the future's not ours to see Que Sera Sera. yes i was actually singing the song as typing it. yes i am a fool. lol.
