next to the house there are still weeds growing in december. this dandylion will be open later today or tomorrow when it gets to 40 degrees out with the added heat of the brown brick next to it. the frost will be back out of the ground by tomorrow afternooon and the cover crop is slowly filling in more and growing. but those days are numbered as the cold and snow are here starting this week. what a beautiful stretch the patch had to help the soil breakdown some of the heavily added shredded maple leaves. definately one of the latest years i can remember without having frozen ground. we have had frosts and freezes, but nothing penetrating far enough that doesn't thaw by the next day or 2. hopefully this will be a good sign for next year.
