here is a better pic i took this morning before going to work. it is easier to stand on route 30 and check the camara and pics when there is not a steady flow of traffic. you have to stand in the street to get the better pics. this pic shows the stabilization from the front. i will take daylight pics after work to show the reverse side. we stood up the pumpkin and immediately put 2 bails of hay behind secured to the ground with rebar. then cut 2 hole up high through each side by the shoulders and put a one inch pvc pipe through it and cut the pipe flush to the pumpkin. then quarter inch steel rope goes through each side of the pipe and attached to a pole and a tree with cable clamps. next we cut the hole open behind on the flat side big enough to get in and get seeds and guts. then carved, cleaned out chunks, then insert flood light and close the hole with fabric of any kind. we used the lifting tarp. then a third bail of hay is centered on top of the other 2 side by on the ground and 3 pieces of rebar are driven behind the upper bail to keep in place for support. the mouth is supported with broomsticks cut to size to hold the weight of the flesh up as it will sag more and more each day. added mouth supports may be needed the longer the carving stays in tact. we like the big evil grin, so the only way to pull it off so wide is with supports. time to get the kenny powers outfit ready for halloween. east bound and down is the wackiest will ferrell danny mcbride stuff out there. check it out if you like movies like "the anchorman". same director. it is on hbo and season one is on out on dvd.
