tomorrow is the final move of the season. the 1173 is coming back to bobby's tap for the carving party tomorrow night. the pumpkin will be secured with a piece of pvc pipe going in one shoulder and out the other with a piece of plastic coated 1/4" steel rope going through the pvc pipe and secured to a tree and post on each side of the pumpkin. the pvc pipe should avoid andy cutting of the flesh from the any pressure of the pumpkin leaning on the cable. then bails of hay will be placed behind the pumpkin and we will get some cornstalks to cover the pipe sticking out of each side. the pumpkin should stand up pretty good on its own with the shape and should look pretty nice upright and fully displayed towards route 30. securing it properly is my major concern to avoid kids rolling it onto another kids leg or neck or something. once secured. i will sit back and relish the evening as the carving commences and then the final lighting up moment. dart leagues will be in the bar tomorrow too, so it should be a full house of fun. hopefully on this last move the pumpkin is still sound and isn't rotting inside out or anything. ya never know with this hobby. i can't wait to see how thin my walls were compared to my 1147 last year.
