here is a nice pic of the fall colors really starting to ripen here in joliet. this is my neighbors tree that i hope that some day gets struck by lightening. no, not really but it wouldn't break my heart. i lose some direct evening sun because of it, especially in late august and september on. its not a lot of sun lost, but at least one hour every night all season long. she sure is a pretty maple though, and all her leaves get shredded fine and go into the patch. so she ain't all bad.
