I removed the silicone from the area that I filled in earlier on August 18th..here it the picture;

The blossom end around the deformity (the big zit) also rotted away and that is what created the foul smell.

After removing the sealant and cleaning up the area with a small spoon, all I found was solid pumpkin meat!! I used some bleach and water, then the fan to dry it out.

After it was dry, we probed it to double check, I declared it a pumpkin miracle....

Chad was right, sometimes if you catch it early enough the pumpkin may heal itself by continuing to grow on the inside.
