a friend asked me how big the chair was in the photo, so i measured it for reference. the chair is 36" tall to the top of the backrest and 23" wide. i let the pumpkins get some hazy sun today and will put the sheets on tomorrow if the sun comes out. the tyvek shade tarps will go back up before the rains come to keep the soil under and surrounding the pumpkin completely dry as well as the pumpkin, and most importantly, the stem. lightly dusted the stems as i regularly do this time of the year with captan. this week i will trim off all remaining leaves on the the main vines as most are in very poor shape and the pumpkins are barely growing. i just want to keep the ambilical cord in tact as long as possible withought old leaves rotting at their bases into the main. the secondaries i do not get as picky with.
