took one for the team. had a splinter of wood about half as thick as a pencil jammed under my thumbnail over half way to the bottom of the nail. had to remove the entire corner of the nail to get to a piece of the splinter that broke off under the nail. a pretty big piece too. so with nail clippers and and a needle, i slowly chopped enough nail to stick the needle, through raw chopped up undernail skin, to pry free the remaining splinter. not fun. and yea, it hurt and still does. but it pissed me off when it happened while messing with the 4 mil plastic last night in the rain, that i went out today and got the 6 mil rolls and put it up, bad thumb and all. i will call it a motivational wound that comes with the territory. shoot, last year a had an old bamboo shoot in the shin healed up wound from the year prior that festered a bit the year later and out came a little piece of bamboo shoot that i missed. pumpkin growing can be dangerous my friends, especially when you are Polish.
