here's the repair job, used beeswax from a new toilet ring that i had around, the split was lenght wise on the stem,, filled the edges and covered it all for wweather proofing, wraped it with a plastic wrap, and cut a rubber band in half,, then wrapped each end,, the band was not stretched tight,, just loose to hold the plastic in place. # 2 580 caron
