"the duece" is 40 days old today and sitting at 608 lbs est. and ott 306.5. she is blobbing out day by day and looks more and more like loose fat hanging over a belt with a bellybutton of a blossum so far in that its silly. still might have a chance to get 1000 on a small skinny secondary vine set which would prove to me this 1161 plant has some true mighty power in its genes. my camara broke, so i will get a new one this week and get some pics of "the duece" soon. we didn't have any measurable rain for over 9 days. so with the 1-2 inch prediction on sat. for sunday and mondays storms, i watered with the misting system 5 hours saturday in the heat and 5 hours saturday night/sun morning. i basically upped the watering to get the ground somewhat saturated for 36 hours prior to the heavy rains to buffer the plants from the instant shock surge. well the skies opened up yesterday with one inch and got another 3/4" this morning and another half inch to an inch is expected later today. hopefully they take it in stride. cooler weather in the high 70s is back which is the temps these pumpkins seem to love the most.
