and a final picture of "the freak" on day 45 shows off its recent color changes. if the freak holds true to its genetic makeup and goes anywhere near 15% heavy, then i will grow the seed out of it if they are viable next year. the reason being is i crossed the female 1185 (1041 x 898) genes with the 1385 genes that are growing "it". the long shape with heavy genetics and super vines/stump/leaves crossed with the monster 1385 genetics have me hoping big time for viable seeds. besides this, both pumpkins have nice color, and both are a lot more powdery mildew resistant than my 1161 plant. amazing difference. all 3 plants show signs of pm, but the 1385 and 1185 are way more healthy and show significantly less infected leaves than my 1161.
