I went ahead and terminated the main just pass the pumpkin. I know that the end will be coming soon, but I can say that the stump and the vine up to the pumpkin is in really good shape. I also can see continued growth at that end of the plant. Plus cutting the main has seemed to releive any tention on the pumpkin. I think next year when I set my keeper pumpkin I am going to terminate the main and grow out the secondaries for further support.
