Here is photo of where I have raised the soil and then compacted it with a shovel. I also buried some small logs and stones in the area and spread it out a bit. I won't be measuring this pumpkin for a week lol. I am hoping this will stop the sinking away from the main vine it has been doing. Next photo will show where stem split a bit. It was starting to pull away from the main vine. I have not been able to relieve the tension on main vine much and I think that this is because the weight of the pumpkin has been forcing it away from the main vine. I think this is also what caused the pumpkin next to it to split at stem so drastically. It seems like the soil is settling and they are shifting away from main vines as it does. Has anyone else had this problem. I have seen more and more stress on stem area where it connected to main vine but kept trying to loosen tension and had not realized it was just plain settling away from vine hahaha. Steve
