Picture is of my No 1 pumpkin. As you can see, the bandage is wrapped around the neck of the pumpkin , where it attaches to the main vine. I checked it today and the stem split has stopped and is now dry. Lots to be said for the cheapest method, medicated talcum powder and some elastic bandage.
