I can't wait for the growing season to get started. But wait, looking at the calendar, it did a couple of months ago. Is it really going into summer? With all the cold and cool, unheard of June frosts, days of rain on end and no sun I couldn't tell.
Then the big one, last Thursday we were clipped by a tornado as it came down and touched down just South of us. I felt the house shaking when the sirens went off and talk about a flip-out when I looked outside and I was in the Wizard of Oz, running around, "It's a Twister!" That was a dark, rotating cloud! It sounded like a roaring freight train the whole time.
Luckily, we must have been the first grid they restored power to, because it was back on in 24 hours. But I don't think Jutras has anything to worry about with the 1 plant and 4 ft. mainvine I have left. But I'm cloning the tip of a secondary I found laying over the top of the fence.
Hey, the way this year has been going? Trick or Treaters wearing their bathing suits and running the air conditioning full blast on Christmas Day might not be that far fetched. There's hope yet.
Even Zukle has been too quiet and that can't be a good sign for the state. Seems Michigan is going down like the Edmund Fitzgerald and we won't even get a Gordan Lightfoot song out of the deal.
Is anyone in Michigan doing well this year? Anyone who isn't growing their plants in a high intensity lighted bomb shelter, that is?
