doh!!!!!!!! just noticed today that while putting the table back over the pollination yesterday that the bottom of one of the legs snapped off the blossum top of the female 1' away and next in line to be pollinated on the 1385. it must be a sign to stick with the 13' with very minor seeds in blossum, like 3 on the side of one blossum segment. it should be completely laid down by tomorrow at 5 days old and is on a very nice curve on the main. the srambled 4 lober at 16' with many seeds will still get a chance to grow and the 19' or 20' will be ready to pollinate in about 6 days and will be pollinated for back ups. the 1161 at 12' is a dud for sure and the female at 15' looks to have stopped growing before reaching maturity. the prime 18' on a nice curve will hopefully be the one in about 6 days, but i will have plenty of time to keep trying now that the main is hooked and can go for another 14' if needed. pruned 2 of the biggest prettiest open 5 lobers side by side on the 1185 secondaries i was going to pollinate for back up. scrapped that idea of having a genetics plant and it is on the main or nothing or the plant will become a halloween pumpkin plant if i do not get one on the main. about 5 days away for that first attempt at 17'. today is the last day of the extreme heat and high humidity. i have been walking a fine line with svbs. haven't sprayed since 13 days ago, but i haven't seen one yet and i am holding out for the first cooler night so not to burn the leaves and use the 420 stihl blower for good coverage.
