Since getting my 3 1000L water tanks, I have been trying to figure out how best to feed the water to sprinklers. Here is what I have come up with.
I bought a 2.6 HP water pump with a 1.5" inlet/outlet. It can pump 70 GPM, so it should be able to empty the 250 gallon tank in fairly short order if necessary.
I have set it up so the pump pulls from the butterfly valve at the bottom of the tanks. The water then circulates through the manifold and back into the tank. This is when all 6 hose connections are closed. Once I hook a few hoses up, I start to close the valve (with the red handle) and the pressure increases in the manifold, sending the water out the hoses instead of back to the tank.
I have tested it with a few hoses and it seems to work well. Once I get actual sprinklers hooked up, I will post an update on my diary.
