We had scattered areas of light frost last night, but my plants were warm and cozy inside their hoop houses. It looks like a sunny day so the hoops are opened to keep the temperature down. Each plant got 2 gallons of 10-50-10 and a drenching of funginex. I've worked out a time table of anti-fungal and pesticide applications, trying to use a combination of sytemics and contacts, and using anti-fungals that minimize (I hope) damage to mycorrhiza and developement of resistance. I'll be using funginex, infuse, fungonil, benomyl, and mancozeb on a rotating basis, as well as bayer tree and shrub, cygon and malathion on a rotation for bugs (and, of course, sevin as needed). Infuse and benomyl will be used lightly because of their tendency to suppress myco, and medium to high development of resistance. I'll be using copper late in the season for spot treatments as needed.
