it has been a week since i gave the plants a drink so this morning i gave them a good soaking drench of warm water and mixed in some merit because this is the time to prepare for the enemy. i saw a spotted cuke beetle at the bar on monday and found one sleeping on one of the plants this morning. i looked for any signs of munching and there is none. tonight the plants will get a light dose of talstar one. i thought the one at the bar might have been an early freak, but to have one sitting on a small plant when the hoops are zipped up all night means they have arrived in good enough numbers to warrant concern. everything else has been par for the coarse this week and the plants are looking good. there is a frost advisory tonight, but long range temps looks like this should be the last one. i will be taking down the greenhouses and putting up silt fence wind breaks in about a week to 10 days.
