The overall goal this year is to end up with multiple pumpkins over 400 pounds. I haven't tilled yet, I don't have time for a soil test, and I won't be around on a daily basis to allow me to use greenhouses or maintain them daily like I'd like, so I don't want to set my sights too high. With 6 spots to fill, I'm going with 2 big and "ugly", 2 orange, and 2 green, with a backup for each category. I'll start some extras for the home garden too even though I hold out very little hope of anything happening in there even if I do still have the house come fall. Of course the ultimate goal for a 400 pound pumpkin will be a pumpkin boat for the fall, and in order for that to happen I need to get the 53 GMC in the picture finished and road worthy before October since I don't think my former Father-in-laws truck will be available for pumpkin hauling duties anymore. Last year's diary shows it's previous life as an S10, and it's been a busy winter getting it to this point. It's going to look awesome hauling pumpkins this fall if I can get it done in time.
