I took off the seed coats of the 842 Eaton and the 1142 van Kooten and boosted the temperature to above 30°C.
After 11 days the 842 germinated. The tips of the cot leaves had already rotted away. Unfortunately the plant is rather scrawny with a poor root ball and I will likely send it to the genetics patch.
The 1142 germinated on day 7. It leads the pack by far with a great root system and the largest cot leaves.
Of my backup plants, the 1156 Hunt germinated first and shows the most vigour. It will likely get the 842 Eaton's place in the greenhouse.
I will keep the 1079 Frei (1207 x 898) and the 1378 Pitura (1039 x 1231) as backups. The other two backups will likely be given away.
Tomorrow I start a 1310 Pitura for outside and a 1234 Wursten* as a genetics plant.
If all goes well I hope to make the following crosses:
1142 x 842 1156 x 1142 1310 x 1234*
