i will start my seeds in 8 days and i am excited as a kid on christmas. staying with the 1385, 1161 and 1185.5 line up. had to do some major contemplation all winter on my backup plant strategy. my 1161 backup will be a second 1161 planted side by side and healthiest plant wins if both germinate. if one of the 1161s does not germinate, an 1147 shenoha 2008 (1041.5 mckie x self) will be the backup. if both 1161s do not germinate, i have 3 more 1161s and i will try a 3rd one on 4-26 or 27. the 1385 backup will be my healthiest of 4 i plan to start. just like last year with my 1041.5 mckie plant, the backup 1147 will be snipped no matter how slow or healthy the 1385 looks at an early age, as long as the 1385 is not dead. my 1041.5 last year was the slowest sickliest looking plant of them all that grew my new personal best of 1147. leave the super proven dogs in the ground no matter what the backup looks like at that stage. if my 1385 does not sprout on my 4-20 batch, then another will be started on 4-26 or 4-27. if that one doesn't sprout, then a late starting 5-2 germination of my final 1385 attempt will take place. i will try my damndest to make the 1161 x 1385 cross both ways this year with this program. and the 1185.5 backup will be a second 1185.5 plant side by side with the healthiest 1185.5 getting the spot. if one doesn't germinate on the 4-20 batch, an 1147 will be a backup. i told steve i would guarantee him that i would try the 1185.5 when requesting a seed from him, and he was nice enough to obliege. the 1185.5 (a 22% heavy 1041.5 x a 898) crossed with the 1385 will be my last intended cross with a combo of an extreme % heavy potential seed x super power proven seed.
