Yesterday had layed barrels on sides running longwise in center of Mater hut. Two barrels are approximately 12 feet from each end of hut straddling center berm. Placed max/min on top of west barrel. At 6:41 pm checked temperatures. Max temp was 105F, min temp 52F, present temp 52F. Ground temps in center berm at 8 inches below the surface in center of hut in 3 places was 49F, 50F, and 50F. Air temp at 8:15 am was 13F and there was a skip of snow on the ground. Today was a sunny day. Happy to see the ground temps are up 10F from what they have been. If I can maintain adequate ground temperatures and above freezing at night will be able to transplant tomotoes and pepper plants. Dori, my better half has several varieties of tomatoes and pepper growing in the house and getting ready to go into Mater hut.
