After pulling the roots out of my patch last fall I found that they didn't go very deep. Today I used a sub-soiler and plowed down to about 20 inches to loosen the compacted subsoil. I found a good number of honey suckle, tree and pumpkin roots from the stuff I pulled last year, a couple inches down. Noting was growing past about 9 inches. I'll download some pics tomorrow.
