I have to start them in january here so they don't fry when it hits 115 in the summer, but the soil is still way to cold about 55 degrees, in the past they havent really started growing much until late march early april when the soil warms up to about 70 degrees. This year I bought a 48 foot soil heating cable. Holding right at 70 degrees.
