Plants today. It seems I'll only have room for 1 plant this year because I'm using insect netting to keep the aphids / mosaic virus out and won't be able to cover the whole garden. I'm fine using the 2702 as a backup because it's weaker than the other 2 but I'll have to give either the 2356 or 1935 to someone else because I hate pulling healthy plants.

My plants are already a little bit ahead of last year despite germinating them 10 days later. Very very warm here lately

I gave the extra 2356 mendi plant to my sister and her fiance to grow. First time growers, I can see them really getting into the hobby.

1935 Ford, my only plant this year. It's growing in the same spot as last years 1935. We set up a sort of partial greenhouse for it with plastic around the base and insect netting on the top, hopefully it will keep the aphids and mosaic virus away.

Self pollinated a 5 lobe pumpkin on the 1935 ford about 12' out on the main. My first time ever pollinating the preferred keeper in June, the weather this year has been incredible.

Pumpkin itself is still growing fine

The 1935 doesn't have mosaic virus. I'm still not 100% sure what was ailing the plant but it is recovering from it now. The pumpkin itself is day 27 and around 300 lbs.

I am safe from the kelowna wildfire, for those who were concerned. Our neighborhood was not affected.

My 1935 Ford weighed 1090.5 lbs. It won first place at the Armstrong harvest festival on October 7th. It went a little light although I lost the stump and most of the plant to aphid and rot problems in early September, it was likely sitting there losing weight for a month. Cross is 1935 Ford x Self
