Sweet! My 574.5 is taking on a 1676.5 Daletas! The 574.5 ended up constricted roots, so it seems like a perfect choice for a root experiment. /grabs popcorn, watches bigpumpkins.com

By popular demand, I'm back to updating my Diary. I've missed being here! This 'spring' was so cold I had a late start and all of my plants are now on the small side. I'm hoping for a warm autumn, as predicted. My patch is small so I'm only growing one of everything: Baker Butternut Squash (sorry Dan!), 133.5 Treece 22 FP, 119.75 Treece LG, 124.5 Williams LG, and Ned's 839. Williams LG is in the lead this season.

Noooooo!!!! Overnight or this morning, something prematurely terminated five secondary vines for me by eating the vine tips!!!! Two terminated vines are visible in this photo. My pumpkin is fine, thankfully. The security camera did not show anything. I saw a possum in the back yard last night, do possums like pumpkin tips? Is possum repellent effective? If I have to ask, probably not, lol!

I hope that installing a new fence, boxing my main, and an additional critter cam will prevent additional Midnight Snacking on Nebula Ned.

"More Nebula Ned! MOAR!" Exceeds expectations despite the deer-terminated secondaries! I nearly culled this plant until I remembered what my mentor told me, "Never Give Up!"

406 Mercer from the 839 Sandercock, 20% heavy! Chris Rodebaugh was right, what a boulder! The cavity was small enough that the pumpkins guts were compacted and grown over each other. I'm looking forward to EC Testing all season long next year.
