New year, New patch. This off season i have been working on several things. Building the soil structure in the new patch. I have brought in 32 total yards of compost for what will be approximately 7,200 sqft patch. I plan to grow 6 competition plants and 1-2 small sqft plants for pollination/ genetic crosses. This year the patch is very close to the house and will have full sun all day. I will be using city water instead of my spring water. This is virgin soil so it will not be 100% dialed in but if I can get it to 75-80% I will be happy.

Finished my DIY venturi fertilizer injector. Tested it and it works perfectly. Very happy with the way it came out and the adjustability it will give me this year.

2493 Wolf x 2376 Bayuk. I'm excited to grow this seed next year. It was a fun fruit to grow, I just couldn't keep the PM and downy mildew at bay this year and she slowed way down the last 3 weeks. Weigh her this Saturday and should be me 3rd largest fruit ever grown and 2nd largest officially.

I always do winter test with seeds and plants to dial in things before spring go time. This year I focused on consistency with Temps, light and automation of a new grow tent. It is night and day of years past. My grow lights are nothing fancy. Just $75 LED grow light panels off Amazon. I downloaded a LUX app and played around with different intensity and hours of light vs dark. I will put together a video on my YouTube channel " Growing giants with Scott " closer to spring but results may very for others based on their setup. I say this so they you are inspired to run your own test and have the best possible start next spring.
