The place I work has asked me to grow some pumpkins at work for their fall festival. Along with around 1000 field pumpkins we are growing 3 AG’s, the largest of which will be carved by Gus the squash carver at the festival. They are top to bottom 2261 Shmitt, 1765 Greathouse, 1459 Hodge.

1752 Rick Kisamore ‘22 Dmg. Cross is 1417 Kisamore x 1885.5 Werner. Sad to see dad loose this one as it was on pace to be well over 2000 pounds. Only positive note is that we were able to take to the county fair to display for the week.

1885.5 Werner rib split on me. Weighed it on my scale 1643 pounds. Was still doing 25 a day. This pumpkin never hit 40 pounds a day but the growth curve was very long. I think she’d have been right around 2000 if she made it. I’ll admit I fell behind on the maintenance on this plant a couple times. Most of the vines were not buried. Definitely need to cut back to 2 or 3 plants next year. Cross was 1885.5 x 2003 Kisamore.
