Here is the unofficial state record sunflower. 13 foot 0.5 inch. Due to a need to get it measured before heading off to college I made sure to take all of the steps necessary to make it a state record. The club added extra criteria, which made it so it needed a remeasure. Decided to keep it unofficial because of how busy I am now.
Here is a picture of the 326 Ritter. Cross is 2200 est Geddes × 1501 Vanderwielen. What makes it special is that it only grew with 10 leaves the entire season. This was due to a frost that killed all of the new growth including the main vine. Fortunately there was a pumpkin near the tip that survived. If I remember right it was pollinated June 14th .
