220.5 Smiley has been a steady gainer for me all season. Currently estimated around 150 pounds but cooler weather may halt her growth. Time will tell.

Having issues with my long gourd. Sprung a leak down near the tip and looked like it was bleeding. Got that stopped but she’s either starting to dry out or the tip is going bad. Still very solid but definitely getting discolored. Approx 140”

220.5 Smiley is a rockstar. Slowly but surely creeping up there. Couple more weeks of good growth should get me into state record territory. Fingers crossed.

If anybody cares, this is how I tied up my long gourd this year. It’s a prussic knot.

Lost my 1765 Greathouse today. She quit growing at least a week ago. Ended up being a blossom end split that took her down.

I have 5 maters still growing which look like they should be timed good for the weighoff’s.

Tuesday, September 20 View Page
Changed my growing strategy this year by allowing plants to get big and then topping after fruit set. Didn’t help. Tomatoes still small. Biggest so far was 4.5 pounds. This one not even 4 pounds.

Tuesday, September 20 View Page
Melon stem is brown and basically done growing at this point. Weighoff less than 2 weeks away. Fingers crossed. I do believe the state record is a possibility but we’ll see. Trying not to get my hopes up.

Tuesday, September 20 View Page
Taping over 300 pounds at this point but the biggest cc is real close to the ground and she’s pretty much shaped like a triangle so guessing she will go light. Still a great BG for 180 sqft plant.

BG plant is getting tired. Fighting aphids and PM.
