Added about an inch of dehydrated cow manure and about 2 inches of compost. I hope to grow the 1939 Lyons/Hunt (2005 Haist x 1984 Barron). I haven't grown AGs now for several years. Also hope to grow three field pumpkins, all of them 133 Wursten. Two will be no dig, one of which in an open ended polytunnel and one outside, and the third one in a conventional tilled plot. For fun I'll be growing some other giant veg including beets, radishes, runner beans, sunflowers, cucumbers and perhaps carrots and leeks.   Tuesday, June 22 View Page First giant vegetable results this year. Rhubarb 721g (1.59 lbs). The smaller ones were 651g en 539g.   Monday, June 28 View Page Harvested some normal rhubarb and a giant one today. The giant one weighed 885 grams (1.95 lbs). Big one is a bit longer than my arm and I'm 6'3".
